EagleConnect has replaced Eaglemail!

The UNT Eaglemail system has been replaced with the EagleConnect system. The EagleConnect system offers new and exciting features, including:

  • 10 GB of mailbox storage
  • 25 GB of file storage in SkyDrive
  • Alumni will keep their account
  • Existing Eaglemail addresses still work
  • Antivirus and anti-spam protection with automatic encryption
  • Shared address book and calendar information
  • Support for 25 languages
  • Chat!

Important Things to Know:

  • Eaglemail Migration has ended, as of Monday July 20th, 2009.
  • If you had your Eaglemail forwarded to an external address (GMail, Yahoo, etc), it is now being delivered to EagleConnect. You must reconfigure forwarding in EagleConnect.

Who gets an EagleConnect account?
  • Students will automatically get an EagleConnect account.
  • Alumni who leave during Spring '09 and from now on will keep their EagleConnect account after leaving UNT.
  • Alumni who left UNT prior to Spring '09 will have the option to activate an EagleConnect account.
  • Retirees will have the option to activate an EagleConnect account.
  • Employees who are not also students/alumni will not get an EagleConnect account. However, UNT employees have access to the UNT Exchange email system.
What is EagleConnect?
EagleConnect is a suite of online communication and organization tools powered by Microsoft's Live@EDU service. It will provide students with e-mail as well as chat, calendar, file storage, and other online services.

Who decided to switch from Eaglemail to EagleConnect?
A committee made up of representatives from administrative, academic, and student departments and organizations on campus made the recommendation to move from Eaglemail to a new system.

When did the change from Eaglemail to EagleConnect occur?
Eaglemail was shut down on May 18, 2009.

How long will Eaglemail be remain available?
Eaglemail is no longer available.

What will happen to my Eaglemail messages?
Eaglemail Migration ended on July 20th, messages can no longer be migrated from Eaglemail to EagleConnect.

Do I have to keep my old Eaglemail messages?
No. Eaglemail messages were not automatically transferred. Eaglemail migration ended as of July 20, 2009.

Do I have to change my email address? What will happen to my existing Eaglemail address and alias?
You will be provided a new EagleConnect address which will serve as your login ID (but use your EUID password), but your current e-mail address and alias will remain active. It will be more efficient to give people your new EagleConnect e-mail address, but mail sent to your old address and alias will still be delivered.

My Eaglemail is currently being forwarded to an external email account. Will that still function?
All existing Eaglemail forwarding was disabled on May 18, 2009 when the Eaglemail system was shutdown. However, you will be able to configure forwarding in the EagleConnect system.

I want to start using EagleConnect. What should I do?
You can begin using your EagleConnect account now by following these login instructions.

I want to copy my Eaglemail messages to my UNT Exchange (employee) account. What should I do?
Unfortunately, as of July 20th, 2009, you can no longer migrate Eaglemail messages.
